Refine Your Profile
Rhinoplasty, or a nose job, is a transformative procedure that enhances both the appearance and function of the nose. Whether you seek to correct a structural defect or refine your profile, rhinoplasty offers a path to a more balanced facial look.
The nose is a defining facial feature. Even small changes in its size or shape can greatly impact one’s appearance. Cosmetic rhinoplasty aims to improve the nose’s aesthetics, ensuring it harmonizes with other facial features.
Rhinoplasty can also enhance breathing by reshaping the internal nasal structures. Often called a “nose job,” rhinoplasty involves surgical reconstruction of bone and cartilage to improve both appearance and function.
Rhinoplasty is ideal for individuals unhappy with their nose’s appearance or those facing breathing issues due to structural problems. The best candidates are healthy individuals with fully developed facial features. Good female candidates are at least 18 years old, and good male candidates are at least 23 years old. If you’re considering rhinoplasty in Turkey, Max Aesthetics provides a thorough consultation to understand your goals and find the best approach to achieve your desired results.
Rhinoplasty is typically an outpatient procedure. During surgery, the surgeon makes precise incisions, either inside the nostrils (closed rhinoplasty) or across the base of the nose (open rhinoplasty). Next, He reshapes the underlying bone and cartilage or correct functional issues like a deviated septum. The entire procedure usually takes between one to three hours.
Rhinoplasty, like any major surgery, carries several risks and complications. These include bleeding, infection, and potential reactions to anesthesia. Specific to rhinoplasty, patients may experience breathing difficulties, permanent numbness around the nose, and an uneven appearance. Other possible risks include prolonged pain, discoloration, scarring, and septal perforation, which is a hole in the wall between the nostrils. There may also be changes in the sense of smell, and in rare cases, cardiovascular complications or intracranial injury can occur. Most people, however, only encounter minor side effects like pain, swelling, and bruising, which typically resolve within a week or two. It’s important to discuss these risks with your healthcare provider to understand how they may apply to you.
Recovery from rhinoplasty can take up to a year, with the timeline varying by person. Initially, swelling is common for four to six weeks, with the tip of the nose being the last area to return to normal. During recovery, your nose may appear crooked or asymmetrical as the swelling decreases. Avoid strenuous activities like jogging, cycling, or weight lifting for two to three weeks, and gradually resume regular activities after three to four weeks. Sleep with your head elevated to aid recovery, and maintain a diet rich in vitamin C, vitamin D, protein, and calcium to support healing. Be cautious of sun exposure, as it can cause permanent discoloration, and avoid using ice or cold packs on your nose post-surgery. Most people can return to work or school within one to two weeks, and light exercise is generally safe after about four to six weeks.
